Who We Are
Huntington Beach has highly trained and well-equipped public safety personnel, but if a major disaster occurs, fire and police personnel will not be able to immediately respond to all calls for help. It could take more than 72-hours before public safety personnel would be able respond to your home or business during a major disaster.
Community Emergency Response Teams Volunteer Program
CERT volunteers are trained to prepare for and respond to a disaster until first responders arrive.

What We Do
Be part of the Huntington Beach CERT program to prepare for and respond to disasters for yourself, family, and neighbors. Through hands-on training, practice and realistic exercises, CERT members:
1. Learn how to safely respond to and prepare your family and community for manmade and natural disasters
2. Help organize basic disaster response
3. Promote preparedness by hosting and participating in community events
4. Perform basic first aid and CPR
5. Perform search and rescue efforts for trapped victims
6. Extinguish / put out fires
