The Huntington Beach Police Department is proud to offer the Citizens Academy to local residents. The program is designed to increase the understanding of the Police Department.
Students will learn from department personnel who are experts in the areas of Patrol and Traffic operations, Community Oriented Policing, Narcotics, Vice, Gangs, SWAT, K-9, Aero Operations and other fields.
HBPD offers the Citizen's Academy Training once per year (in the Spring) in English. This is a 9 week course. Translation services can be made available upon request. Pre-register to attend HBPD's Citizen's Academy
Whether you are a community leader, a long term resident, new resident, or live outside the city but work in the City of Huntington Beach, your attendance is welcome. Candidates that successfully complete HBPD's Citizen's Academy can apply to our PD Volunteers program.
