In partnership with our HB community of volunteers, the Huntington Beach Police Department desires to provide the highest level of safety and protection through service to our residents, businesses, visitors and the public to preserve and improve the quality of life in Huntington Beach. Our Volunteer in Police Service program provides an avenue for dedicated citizens to provide valuable services in collaboration with the Huntington Beach Police Department. By utilizing life skills, experiences, volunteers provide assistance through community outreach and education, plus administrative work and special projects when and where required. Pre-register for the HBPD Citizen's Academy to qualify for Police Department volunteer work.
Included here is a list of volunteer opportunities and activities that may match your skills and interests:
1. Conduct vacation house checks & patrol
2. Conduct patrol duties using department vehicles
3. Remove illegally posted signs on public property
4. Conduct station tours
5. Visit schools
6. Distribute crime prevention pamphlets
7. Staff the front desk and police substations
8. Participate in community events, engagement and crime prevention
9. Represent the HBPD at various events as a Retired Senior volunteer
10. Perform administrative Operations
